Avian Flu...

has been a problem the last couple of years in the Asia region. yet our government has never tried to fully address the problem. when chickens were infected, the government told people its ok to consume poultry. feel sorry for those in the poultry business and eat chicken is the message. R U KIDDING ME?!?! they'd actually put economy ahead of lives?? these things are normal in the economic cycle world. it is a risk people have to take when dealing with a business! and then when a new strain of the virus evolved from pigs, again there were no precaution. even now as the virus has spreaded and infected animals within the zoo, the government again took a long time to close the facility. the animal tests have started since September 5 and yet theyve only closed the zoo 14days later.

last nite i saw the smug-faced jakarta governor, sutiyoso, claimed he had put extra efforts in isolating infections by filtering the poultry entering the city and blablabla.. very contradictory to what his staff stated: "the law does not permit us to forcefully annihilate poultry that have been infected if the owner rejects it"(www.detik.com). what a joke! these government officials need to get their priorities straight!

It makes me sick that "even now, government officials are publicly congratulating themselves on a job well done in isolating the virus, often by just holding a press conference and spinning BALD-FACED LIES about their efforts. this is what happens when you hire cronies instead of experts. when the time comes to actually do their jobs, they scatter like cockroaches after the lights have been flipped on"[quoting from here].
